The 59th THE POSTERS 1983\2012 -The Prize]Winning Works from The International Poster Triennial in Toyama-
March 01, 2013 - June 09, 2013
We will be holding an exhibition to showcase the 30 years of history of The International Poster Triennial in Toyama (IPT).
IPT is the only full-scale international poster competition in Japan, which has been held every 3 years since 1985. This year, the museum celebrates its 10th triennial, marking the worldfs largest poster competition by collecting 4,622 entries. As a celebrative event, we will select and show the prize winning posters of the past 30 years.
From the 19th century to this day, poster has been the center of graphic design in every age. That is because posters use universal visual language, where graphic designerfs culmination of creativity and vision is, in a single instant, judged and praised. IPT is the place where designerfs vision is tested universally, and the chosen outstanding work is a mirror reflects our time, a witness of our time and continues to move us no matter what age we are in.
