DNP Invites Indonesian Junior High School Pupils to Visit Factory, Gain Hands-on Workplace Experience
PT DNP Indonesia actively offers Indonesian school students the chance to tour the DNP factory as part of its regional contribution efforts.
1, Local junior high school students enjoy factory tour
On October 29, 2014, 11 companies representing the governing council of the Karawang International Industrial City in West Java invited 670 first grade junior high-school pupils to tour the factory facilities, with a view to having the younger generation learn about the manufacturing process, and expand their dreams for the future.
32 pupils and 2 teachers visited the PT DNP Indonesia Karawang factory, and observed the gravure printing-based manufacturing process for packaging products.
Having seen the way otherwise familiar packaging is made, the pupils offered such comments as, "DNP now feels more familiar to me," and "I learned the importance of maintaining discipline and keeping rules."
2, Junior high school students from the Jakarta Japanese School enjoy factory tour
On November 11 and 12, Junior high school students from the Jakarta Japanese School visited the DNP factory and gained hands-on workplace experience. Japanese companies in the Jakarta area cooperate with the Jakarta Japanese School integrated learning program designed to support future job selection, and provide pupils with hands-on workplace learning. For the second year in succession, the DNP Pulogadung Plant welcomed a visit by three second year junior high school pupils.
This year, more than anything else, it was necessary to ensure the safety of the junior high school pupils, including decisions regarding their route to the plant, and emergency responses against politically driven demonstrators and possible flooding. Pupils with differing academic interests and dreams for the future were matched with companies best equipped to offer them hands-on workplace learning experiences. As a result, it was possible to make smooth preparations for the work experience.
During the two-day trip, students studied about print-related principles and technology, and engaged in hands-on work experience.
Through such social contribution activities, PT DNP Indonesia aims to build better relations with the local community.
