DNP to Expand C-SAM's Mobile Wallet Service in Asia Pacific Region

DNP signs reseller agreement that targets about 30 countries in Asia Pacific region


Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) has signed an agreement with C-SAM, Inc. (C-SAM) based in U.S. for reselling C-SAM's Mobile Transaction Platform (MTP) in about 30 countries in Asia Pacific region as well as in Japan. DNP will expand its "Mobile Wallet service" for smart phone to entire Asia Pacific region by utilizing MTP of C-SAM.

Background of the Agreement

It is predicted that NFC(Near Field Communication)-enabled smart phones will soon be used all over the world, and "Mobile Wallet service" which can manage multiple applications and services (e.g. payment, coupon, rewards point, and promotion) with virtual "Wallet" application on the smart phone is recently drawing market's interest worldwide.

In July 2012, DNP has concluded an agreement with C-SAM for reselling C-SAM's MTP in Japan. DNP forecasts the dramatic expansion of smart phone related services in the near future, and it signed another agreement for resale in Asia Pacific region.

Outline of the Agreement

DNP plans to support Japanese companies entering Asia Pacific market by assisting their "Mobile Wallet services", reselling MTP which DNP can resell exclusively, and offering related system integration services.

Also, DNP and C-SAM will cooperate in marketing of "Mobile Wallet service" in about 30 countries in Asia Pacific region in addition to Japan.

DNP has a priority in resale activities in countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, and South Korea.

Forward Looking Events

DNP will start the service in Asia Pacific region in December 2012, and expects the sales of 1 billion JPY in the next three years with related businesses in the region. DNP will introduce "DNP Mobile Wallet Service" at "CARTES 2012", the trade show held in Paris from November 6th to 8th 2012.
