DNP Included on CDP A List for Second Consecutive Year
Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) is pleased to announce the inclusion of the Company on The Climate A List 2015 (A List) of the CDP1, a London, UK-based international nonprofit organization that provides environmental assessments of activities concerning climate change issues. It is the second consecutive year that DNP has been included on the A List.

CDP targets approximately 5,000 listed companies around the world, including 500 in Japan, and assesses efforts directed at climate change issues, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, while also targeting related information disclosure. CDP ranks greenhouse gas related efforts by companies in six levels from A and A- through E, and assesses information disclosure from 0 to 100. 2015 saw 113 companies, including seven in Japan, selected for inclusion in the A List. DNP was among those companies, and received a score of 97 in the area of information disclosure.
The CDP Japan Briefing 2015 was held at the U Thant International Conference Hall of the United Nations University in Tokyo. The briefing was attended by DNP Executive Vice President, Koichi Takanami, who briefed on environmental activities conducted by the Company as part of a presentation by highly ranked firms.

DNP launched an independent environmental management system in 1993, set targets for greenhouse gas emissions and the efficient use of resources, and is actively pursuing ongoing activities. In 2014, the Company established the 2030 Target, aiming for a 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions at all locations, including those overseas. The Company also calculates greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 3), not only at the in-house manufacturing level, but also throughout the entire supply chain, and promotes such reduction activities.
Looking ahead, DNP aims to be a Company worthy of the trust of all stakeholders at all times, and will promote improvement activities on an ongoing basis, contributing to the achievement of corporate growth and a sustainable society.

In recognition of these efforts in September 2015, DNP was incorporated in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World), a globally influential Social Responsibility Index (SRI) for the 11th consecutive year. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices assess some 2,500 companies around the globe on economic, environmental and social sustainability dimensions, with highly ranked companies selected as index components. In FY 2015, a total of 317 companies around the globe were selected, and DNP was one of 20 Japanese companies included in the index..
DNP has also been selected by FTSE4Good Global and CDP The Climate A List, both of the U.K., ETHIBEL Investment Register of Belgium, and the Morningstar Socially Responsible Investment Index. DNP is recognized, both in Japan and overseas, as a company operating a socially conscious sustainable business.
