The 116th Exhibition Yasuhiro Yomogida Swinging Edo January 10-31 ,1996

I have had exhibitions every 2 or 3 years since 1970. In the 80s, I depicted the theme of how people who work in nature look as well as the nature and the beautiful, sad, strong sensibility that can be felt from such people. An exhibition may be something that separates one job from another, files small changes, or a way to put a small caption on things. One stirs up one's own wind between the files, accepts the brant of the wind created by having the exhibit viewed and returns to work refreshed. But with this exhibition, it wasn't just a wind but more like being visited by a storm. While I am concerned about its staying power and the strength of its charge, I will try to relax, have my work seen and strolling along from my usual kind of work while depicting an image of an Edo Period intellectual, try to communicate with a wind that is as fun as possible.
