The 145th Exhibition Yoko Yamamoto:Opera Lesson June 4(Thur.) - 27(Sat.),1998

The reason why I called this exhibition "The Opera Lesson" is because I wanted the exhibition hall to be a "place where sound can be heard." The basement, based on my experience of seeing the cave wall paintings in Lascaux once, was dimly lit and showed the portraits of 12 composers. How will the lines, which can just barely been seen with great concentration, convey the image to the viewers. In the other space on the first floor, the marble floor was changed to a wooden stage. The works were all placed on the stage and the viewers looked while walking on a creaking floor. A 10 meter curtain can down in front of the stage. When one's footing becomes unstable, one looks with greater attention. Could sound be heard from the prints with music as their theme?
