The 183rd Exhibition Tadahito Nadamoto: Patterns from Everyday Life August 7(Tue.) - 29(Wed.),2001

This exhibition was made possible with the total technical cooperation of EPSON. My breath was taken away by the speed with which digitization developed and I became speechless at the unimaginable reproductions. This was the first surprise that I experienced in my 40-year history as a creator of expressions. On the other hand, I felt some reluctance in showing a number of older works but I wanted to show how those 40 years were spent despite some embarrassment. Now the generations have undergone great changes. I thought to show my little history with the audacious thought that it might provide some stimulation to young people who could be my grandchildren. Expressions have now become multifaceted. Using computers, visual worlds that we could never have imagined have been created but these are things that are happening in a different world as far as I am concerned. It may sound good to say it is the last resistance of an older person but all I know how to do is to lick my pencil and go along my own path.
