The 193rd Exhibition Alan Chan : Oriental Passion Western Harmony June 4(Tue.) - 22(Sat.),2002

Having my exhibition held at ginza graphic gallery is like a dream come true. Its materialization was definitely owed much to Mr. Ikko Tanaka who has long been the mantle in my design career for so many years and that he was the most instrumental person in initiating the whole idea of my exhibition at ggg. I remembered when I first visited the gallery in the early 80's, I was so impressed with its high quality and profound professionalism. At that time, visiting ggg was a must when I visited Japan every time. To be flank, I was a bit nervous when I knew that my exhibition would be taken place at ggg. When I set up my work on the first day, I felt like a university student preparing for a dissertation paper for lecturer's examination in the final year. It's really hard to express what I felt at that moment...seems like a combination of surprise and joy. During the opening party of my exhibition, I met with lots of my old Japanese friends again. I was very excited and treasured this long-lived friendship since my first visit in Japan in 1975.
