The 196th Exhibition Graphic Wave 2002 Hitomi Sago/Yasuhiro Sawada/Norito Shinmura September 4(Wed.) - 30(Mon.),2002

Should a variety in individual understandings with one theme as a core be shown or should expressions including themes naturally develop from the intrinsically diverse individualities? We chose the latter. Mr. Sawada created his own view of the world with an elaborate composition. Mr. Shinmura, who seeks new ground through elongated roads as part of his lifework theme of fisheries, depicted a scene with his own flag signaling a big catch. He broadens by designing both things and matters. In recent years, I have indicated variability by the space between planes and solids. With symbiosis as my theme, I tried to show what develops from small graphics that change with light and angles and the surface of a wall. If you posed the question of continuation or change or whether the change is in the continuation, would the answer have been diversified? One answer would be that there is no one who has gone straight toward change.
