The 198th Exhibition Graphic Shows Brazil : Today's Brazilian Book Design November 7(Thur.) - 30(Sat.),2002

The most important point in showing Brazilian graphic design is due to the lack of knowledge of the Japanese public, even graphic designers, regarding this subject. In this sense, the first thing that was done was to show the country, with its own habits, culture and graphic design. This is important as Brazil is a completely different country from Japan. During the opening of exhibition, Mr. Shigeo Fukuda said that having an exhibition at ginza graphic gallery means having the designer in the first level of the world. We, Brazilians, acknowledge the generosity of the gallery and of the supervisor, Ikko Tanaka, who died a few months before the opening of the exhibition. Ikko Tanaka was a great friend of Brazilian designers. His posters were exhibited at Museu de Arte de São Paulo and Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro, having had a great number of visitors who admire his work. So, the exhibition was a homage to Ikko-san!!!!
