The Media Conference of Museum was established in November, 1993, by volunteers from people involved in the operation and administration of museums. Under the hypothesis that the future museum is to become the place for new, intellectual experiences and the innovative medium for the information society, we continue various research and study aiming for the development of a future vision for the museum and the role of curators in the multi-media age. The general advisor for this conference is Toshiharu Itoh, Professor of the Tama Art University. The organization consists of approximately 200 members comprised by curators of public/private/corporate museums, government officers, teachers, graduate school students, mass media, and people from general corporations. The Information Communication Centerat Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. is the administration office for the support and promotion of various experimental projects. The first action report, 'Bijyutsukan Kakumei' (= Museum Revolution) will be issued soon. The second study session has started from October, 1995. The study group newsletter, Art Com News is issued regularly.
