The main impetus for Perramus was the need to testify to everything that happened in Argentina during the era of the military dictatorship..... Drawings were and still are my only weapon... I received death threats, my son also received death threats... One day, an anonymous voice called me on the phone, telling me that they were going to blow up my house with dynamite... I tried to continue drawing to avoid the problems.... I was overcome by a feeling of powerlessness. I wanted to draw something more engaged though it wasn't possible. To do it would have been signing my own death warrant.
