| After 3 years of research and investigation, Momoyo Kaijima and friends (Team Made in Tokyo, TMIT) in collaboration with nmp, have put together the internet version of "Made in Tokyo", the architecture project first started in 1996.
Here are 50 buildings that, in true Tokyo style, put their emphasis on efficiency, but that when you look closer leave a sometimes wierd, sometimes funny, and sometimes sad impression on the face of the Tokyo "Megaropolis". Born out of the architects' doubts about everyday architural design, here are the results of TMIT's fieldwork and consequent discoveries. Apart from some subheadings, the site is mainly in Japanese, but we have made every effort to ensure that even if you can't actually read the pages, the text will appear in Japanese on your browser. Don't worry about your encoding preferences, just sit back and Enjoy! |
