Purpose |
| The Toyota Municipal Museum of Art was opened in November 1995 as a new facility to lead culture in Toyota City, which is striving to become a "city of industry and cultural communication." The museum's exhibition rooms, which emphasize exhibitions and their viewing, are designed with special lighting. In a bright, simple, and contemplative space, the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art offers the best environment for visitors to enjoy art. The Toyota Municipal Museum of Art collects and permanently exhibits art works well-chosen to reflect the flow of contemporary and modern art, design, and crafts, both domestic and foreign. Along with its permanent exhibition, the museum holds exciting and meaningful special exhibitions four times a year. In addition, "corners" such as the reading room and the AV booth are on hand for visitors to familiarize and deepen their understanding of art. Educational programs including seminars and lectures are also held on a regular basis. Through these activities, the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art is striving to become an art museum that is reflective and tranquil, as well as stimulating and able to capture the minds of its many visitors. |
