- Connecting the present to the future through materials
DNP Fine Chemicals traces its roots back to Moroboshi Chiyokichi Shoten, which was founded in 1891 as Japan’s first printing ink manufacturer. The business subsequently grew as Japanese society developed, and it changed its name to The Ink Tech Co., Ltd. in 1991. Then it spun off one of its core units, the domestic printing ink business, in 2009 and took its current name, DNP Fine Chemicals Co. Ltd. in 2010.
We currently draw on color- and function-related technologies that we’ve refined over many years to develop functional materials for use in a variety of fields. Unusually for a company in our industry, we’ve built integrated capabilities that extend from pigment dispersion to final product formulation design for color resist, display materials such as OC materials, and imaging materials such as inkjet ink. Those capabilities allow us to develop products that meet customer requirements in a fine-grained manner.
We’re also committing resources to high-function polymers and pharmaceutical intermediates, both areas where we believe there will be growing demand in the future, through research and development being carried out at DNP Fine Chemicals Utsunomiya.
We value "Taiwa (dialogue)" with customers, which for us means getting to know customers and their businesses, identifying challenges, and responding to them quickly by creating new value. We consider that to be our mission.
Our goal is to become a company that strives to contribute to society and connect the present to the future through technology. Going forward, we will work wholeheartedly to supply products that satisfy customers, and I look forward to your continued support and guidance as we do so.
