Tokyo, March 4, 2022, Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) is pleased to announce its selection as an Environmentally Sustainable Company in the Environmentally Sustainable Enterprises category of the 3rd ESG Finance Awards Japan, sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment.

In this latest award, we were recognised for our establishment of a mid- to long-term strategy and target related to climate change, as well as the completeness of our environmentally related information disclosure. The result, however, also leaves unresolved challenges in identifying non-climate change related risks and opportunities, along with the setting of assessment indicators.

In order to realize a sustainable and better society, and more comfortable lives for human beings, our company is constantly striving to overcome social challenges and create new value that meets consumer expectations. We will continue to fulfil our three social responsibilities of Value Creation, Integrity in Conduct, and being a company that is Accountable and Highly Transparent, while endeavouring to be a company trusted by all our stakeholders.

ESG Finance Awards Japan

The ESG Finance Awards Japan is a system designed to recognise institutional investors, fiancial institutions, intermediaries and other companies that are actively engaged in investments and loans, and overcoming social challenges that take into consideration the Environment, Society and Governance, or ESG.

The objective of the awards is to broadly share advanced initiatives with society, and to promote and expand ESG finance that evaluates companies on the dual fronts of finance and non-finance that include ESG related initiatives.

Environmentally Sustainable Company status targets companies that incorporate environmentally-related significant risks and opportunities into management strategies, and create positive consequences for both the environment and corporate value. Companies are assessed and selected on those initiatives and the completeness of their information disclosure.
