DNP Adds E-Flyer Function to Cloud-based Platform Targeting Smartphones
Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd (DNP) is pleased to announce the addition of an e-flyer function to its cloud-based platform that offers a variety of functions necessary for Online to Offline (O2O) services. The newly enhanced function will be available from April, 2014.
Adding a function to smart phones that distributes e-flyers listing the latest local shopping information will lead to increased effects from O2O measures.
O2O is a marketing term referring to a situation where online and offline purchasing activities - i.e., those on the internet and at physical stores - mutually influence each other. At present, O2O services consist of numerous companies executing measures designed to distribute a variety of information to consumer's smart phones in an attempt to guide net-based consumers towards retail stores, promote purchases, and capture regular customers. The original cloud-based platform launched by DNP in November 2013 made it possible for retail stores and companies to introduce O2O services at low costs, and with a short lead time, with just an initial smart phone application and server setting.
This latest version is linked to an existing DNP e-flyer service that provides the latest local shopping information, and has been enhanced by the addition of an e-flyer service making it possible to distribute e-flyers from retail outlets registered by the application user to the application.
[Overview of Enhanced Version]
The newly enhanced version is equipped with such basic functions as e-mail news distribution, coupon issuing, coupon storage, digital member IDs, web browser functions in smart phone applications (WebView), and a user log download.
This new version adds a function that distributes e-flyers from retail stores and companies to the consumer's smart phone, aiming for such improvements as the guiding of customers to retail outlets, and purchasing promotion. It is also possible to simultaneously display e-flyers on a dedicated website provided by DNP.
Start-up fees: From 1.95 million yen
Monthly usage fees: From 260,000 yen
- Includes the enhanced version and access to the DNP dedicated website
- Start-up fees, monthly usage fees are scaled according to member numbers, store numbers, and e-flyer numbers
DNP will link the newly enhanced service to other DNP services, including mobile wallet applications and loyalty point services, to offer a flexible response to companies introducing O2O services. DNP aims for sales of 500 million yen in the year to March 31, 2015 from related-sales, mainly to retailers, such as supermarkets and drug stores and the service industry.
The new service was displayed at the DNP booth at Retailtech Japan 2014, held at Tokyo Big Sight from March 4 until March 7.
