DNP Launches Multi-Media Support System
Facilitates production of paper and digital media in a cloud environment
Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd (DNP) is pleased to announce the September 3, 2104 launch of Business-to-Business (B2B) sales of a multi-media support system that allows multiple corporate divisions to produce contents for both paper and digital media in a cloud environment.

In recent years we have seen the increased diversification of consumers and corporate communications media, which has expanded from paper media, such as pamphlets and catalogues to digital media, including computers, smart phones, tablet terminals, and digital signage. In the face of this diversified information media, companies have also developed the needs to disseminate information that reflects the characteristics and inclinations of individual divisions and corporate bases while conforming to company-wide rules, covering areas such as brand management and compliance management. As this requires multi-media responses, however, complicated business operations have become a challenge, including increased production operations at each division, and in line with this, more subsequent approval procedures governed by HQ divisions.
In answer to these challenges for some time DNP has provided a system for printing materials production and approval procedures accessible by each division via the internet. DNP has now expanded this base by developing a system compatible with contents production not just for paper, but also for digital media, which will boost operational efficiency at companies, and strengthen cross media communications support.
[Overview of New System]
In addition to existing paper media, such as pamphlets and catalogues, the newly developed system has also been designed to take production of digital media contents, such as electronic catalogues for use with computers, smart phones and tablet terminals, as well as those for use with digital signage, and make it possible to execute such production on the internet. Even in instances where multiple in-house division update data at the same time, it is possible to stay abreast of the latest data at all times and engage in production. And by using the approvals function, contents produced by each division and corporate base can be checked and managed, so that unapproved data is not distributed. Apart from being able to distribute approved contents to digital equipment, it is also possible to use such contents as data submitted for printing. As the newly developed system operates in a cloud-environment facilitates, it is possible to shorten lead-times during initial startups and expand or contract the scope of the system in line with the press and slack of business, facilitating lower cost operations.

DNP will promote the introduction of this new system mainly to insurance, financial, real estate and logistics companies with Japan-wide operations. The Company will also offer a BPO service deputizing for a variety of business processes, such as production management, dissemination to digital media, and the production and management of printing materials, providing comprehensive support in order to reduce operational burdens at companies.
DNP aims for total sales from all related production materials of 2 billion yen by fiscal year 2015.
