DNP Launches Digital Signage-Based Advertising Business in Taiwan
Operational alliance with Taiwan's largest in-store media operator
Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) is pleased that the establishment of an operational alliance with C2, the largest Taiwanese advertiser using in-store media, such as POP and posters, and that as of June 23, the alliance has launched an advertising distribution business targeting Japanese companies operating in Taiwan.
C2 operates "It's not just TV," an information delivery service via 280 digital signage screens installed at 36 locations, including department stores and cinemas, and DNP and C2 uses this digital signage network to deliver advertising.

In recent years, we have seen a substantial increase in the number of Taiwanese travelers visiting Japan, and in the number of Japanese companies entering the Taiwanese market, and relations between Japan and Taiwan are expected to become even more active. Japanese products and brands are popular in Taiwan, which maintains a sizable pro-Japanese lobby. Looking ahead, Japanese companies are expected to enter the Taiwanese market in even greater numbers, and increased advertising activity is forecast for such companies.
DNP has entered into an operational alliance with C2, the major Taiwanese in-store media purveyor, and with the C2 operated "It's not just TV" as advertising media, the alliance has launched a Taiwan-based promotion support service mainly for the delivery of advertising by Japanese companies.

"It's not just TV" delivers a variety of contents to digital signage installed at major department stores in Taiwan, including Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, Uni-President Department Store and Taipei 101. At present, C2 has installed 280, 47 inch - 65 inch vertical displays at 36 department stores and cinemas, which use a variety of digital signage, and deliver high level contents and advertising that helps customers enjoy a euphoric sensation, and boost the brand value of the underlying companies and their brands.

In the case of a broadcast period of 1 month, with a broadcast length of 30 seconds, repeated four times per hour: 3.65 million yen (on a pre-tax basis).
In the case of a broadcast length of 15 seconds: 1.83 million yen.

DNP will market the new service to Japanese companies entering the Taiwan market aiming for sales of 200 million yen by fiscal year 2016. Given the increased number of direct flights between Taiwan and Japanese regional cities, by linking the new service to events at department stores, such as Japanese product fares, the Company will support promotions by confectioners and brewers, local authorities looking to boost tourism and companies entering the Taiwanese market.
DNP plans to apply the business model used in Taiwan, expand it, promote alliances with overseas companies, and unfurl a global digital signage business.
