DNP Strengthens E-Flyer Distribution Service Functions

Improves registration efficiency, user convenience

Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) has strengthened e-flyer distribution service functions, and will offer the enhanced service from April 27. In this latest development, in addition to strengthening access log management functions, the Company has also improved display speed, achieved increased efficiencies in the registration process, and added a device discriminating function.

[Summary]

In 2001, DNP launched an e-flyer distribution service targeting companies such as supermarkets and drug stores that made it possible for those companies to post and update existing in-house web site with flyers in a carefree manner. It is also possible to automatically post the same flyers to the e-flyer portal service operated by DNP at no extra charge, making it possible for companies adopting the service to deliver flyers to more consumers.  

In this latest development, the Company has significantly strengthened e-flyer distribution service functions, in order to be able to respond to increased postings, and in the face of a rise in viewing numbers from user smart phones.

[Strengthened Functions]

  • Improved Viewer Functions

The speed at which e-flyers can be expanded and/or shrunk has been boosted as a result of boosting the efficiency of the image data processing of the viewer software. Distribution servers have also been increased, working to improve the stability of flyer-browsing.

  • Increased Efficiencies in the Registration Process

DNP has successfully achieved increased efficiencies in the registration process, by making it possible for input tasks related to large amounts of flyer data and flyer generating processes to be performed at the same time. A preview function for use with smart phones and tablet terminals has been added, and operational efficiencies achieved.

  • Device Discriminating Function Added

This function discriminates between devices accessing corporate websites that carry e-flyers, and automatically selects and displays dedicated screens for use with smart phones and/or computers.

  • Strengthening of Access log Management Functions

With existing DNP services, only access logs to flyers posted on corporate websites have been managed. Following this latest development, it is now possible to manage access logs to flyers on e-flyer portal service operated by the Company at no extra charge. In addition, it is now also possible to manage links to EC sites from e-flyers and also banner use volume.

Start-up costs: 50,000 yen

Monthly usage fees: From 30,000 yen

· Flat rate system based on monthly flyer conversion volume.
· Web-based flyer registration outsourcing services provided at additional cost.

[Looking Ahead]

DNP will market the enhanced service to distribution and retail companies, including supermarkets and drug stores, aiming for total sales of 200 million yen by FY 2017.
