DNP Acquires All Outstanding Shares in HyperTech

Looking to enhance information security

Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) has acquired all outstanding shares in HyperTech Co., Ltd. (HyperTech), a company engaged in the development and commercialization of anti-tampering software for smart phones and computer applications. HyperTech has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of DNP, and will henceforth be known as DNP HyperTech Co., Ltd. (DNP HyperTech).

DNP broadly operates information security-related businesses that protect critical information for companies and consumers. In particular, the Company has a 35 year track record in the IC card business, and offers a variety of solutions that leverage unique DNP technology and know-how. In recent years, the Company has also developed and marketed application anti-tampering technology against the backdrop of increased damage from globally based phishing fraud due to application tampering and excessive claims.

HyperTech was established in 1994, and provides information-related software and services, such as the CrackProof series of application anti-tampering technology, and application safety diagnostic services, which have developed a strong reputation.

In this latest development, DNP aims to expand the information security business targeting applications, by fusing the technology and know-how of our two companies, and as a result has acquired all outstanding shares in HyperTech, which will become a wholly owned subsidiary of DNP.

[Forward Looking Developments]

DNP and DNP HyperTech will combine the security technology developed by DNP in its IC card business with the application anti-tampering technology from DNP HyperTech to promote the development and marketing of new information security products that facilitate the safe use of applications by companies and consumers. Our two companies will market these new products to financial, electric power, healthcare and game production companies both in Japan and overseas, aiming for total sales of approximately 4.5 billion yen by FY 2019.
