DNP Launches O2O Sales Promotion Application Configuration and Operation Service in a Simplified Plan

Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) is pleased to announce the April launch of a simplified plan of a cloud service offering various functions necessary for web-based Online-to-Offline (O2O) services that promote store visits.   

[Development Background]

We are currently seeing increased use of O2O services that distribute coupons and sales campaign information to consumer smart phones and computers, aiming to promote store visits and purchases.  

By offering the necessary basic functions for the creation of smart phone applications and the operation of various services, DNP has, since October 2013, offered a cloud platform function to retail outlets or companies looking to introduce O2O services in a timely manner and also at low cost.   

In April 2014, DNP provided links to existing internet-based flyer services, and added a function for transmitting e-flyers to applications. And in November 2014, DNP added functions facilitating links with loyalty services and the implementation of web based surveys, boosting overall convenience as a result.

In this latest development DNP will commence a simplified plan of these services to answer the needs of companies looking to introduce O2O services in a timely manner and also at low cost.

[Summary of Simplified Plan]

The simplified plan minimizes design tasks and the number of items to be set when creating each application. Because of this, it has been possible to shorten the process from company decisions on the introduction of O2O services to the application coming on line by 1/3 compared to the service currently offered by the Company. It has also been possible to limit the items to be prepared by the adopting company to logo images, icons, terms of use, privacy policy documentation, making for speedier adoption.

As a result, it is now easier not only for distributors, retailers and service operators looking to perform effective customer attraction and sales promotion activities using smart phones, but companies aiming to boost corporate brand image by proposing unique value added initiatives can now also launch O2O services.

Simplified plan

  • Start-up costs 500,000 yen
  • Monthly usage fees 100,000 yen (based on 2OS for up to 50 retail outlets)

 · An extra 30,000 yen shall be levied per the addition of 10 retail outlets

· Maximum member numbers shall be set at 100,000 people, to include provisional memberships and withdrawals.

[Future Developments]

DNP will propose the O2O sales promotion application configuration and operation service mainly to distributors, retailers and service operators, aiming for sales of 500 million yen by FY 2016.
